Iran: Shi’ites Burn US Flag In Nigeria, Condemn Soleimani’s Killing

Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), on Monday, took to the street of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja to protest the killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and his aides in a drone airstrike by the United States, burning American flags at the Banex, Wuse area of the territory.
The demonstrators, who condemned the US’s action, however, shouted ‘Death To America,’ and demanded the immediate release of their leader, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat who have been incarcerated since December 2015.

It was also gathered that some Muslim youths barricaded Abuja-Keffi road in protest against Soleimani’s killing resulting in serious artificial hindrances on the ever-busy federal road.

They also brought commercial activities in the Mararaba and Nyanya axis of the Federal Capital Territory down, as traders who feared an escalation of their action locked up their shops and ran away.

Witnesses told the Nigerian Tribune that they were later dispersed by security operatives.

While reacting to the incident, the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), admonished the youths: “not to allow their emotions becloud them to the dangers of taking to the streets.”

Head of Media and Communication, NSCIA, Ibrahim Aselemi, in a statement said that the impasse between Iran and America could only be resolved through dialogue at the level of bilateral or multilateral diplomacy.

According to the statement: “We appeal to these Muslim youths not to allow their emotions becloud them to the dangers of taking to the streets.

“We believe that the impasse between Iran and America can only be resolved through dialogue at the level of bilateral or multilateral diplomacy.

“We appeal to the law enforcement agency to be alive to their responsibility of protecting lives and property.” The statement added.

7 Year Old Girl From England Memorizes the Entire Holy Qur’an

A girl named Maariya from Luton, England has completed memorising the entire Qur’an.
She  started at the  age of  5 when she memorised Surah Yasin in a charity challenge in order to raise money for Syria.
Shortly after, she completed memorising the last Juzz of the Qur’an at a local madrassah.
Her mother noticed that she was a fast-learner and wanted Maariya to become a Hafidhah. To her dissapointment, there were no complete Hifdh classes available so she decided to guide her daughter through her  journey to memorize the Holy Qur’an herself.
It wasn’t easy and required alot of patience from both herself and her daughter.
“I was overwhelmed and extremely emotional to think Allah gave me the patience to see this through. It wasn’t easy
They had to follow a strict timetable where Maariya would study 5 hours a day, a session before school where she would learn something new, a session after school where she would read what she had learnt and another session after dinner for revision.
In order to motivate Maariya, her mother told her she could pick any prize she wanted every time she completed a portion of the Qur’an. She would often choose simple prizes such as a cuddly toy, a coloring book or a meal at a restaurant.
Their efforts paid off when in just two years when at the age of 7, Maariya completed memorising the entire Qur’an. A Hifdh completion ceremony was held to celebrate her achievement.
